10th Mountain manages a system of 29 backcountry huts in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, connected by 350 miles of suggested routes.  We provide a unique opportunity for backcountry skiing, mountain biking, or hiking while staying in a safe, comfortable shelter. 

Each year, 10th Mountain offers a few special events and trips in the hut system.  These trips are annual adventures, full of fun and tradition, and suitable for strong to expert backcountry travelers.  The two ski-through events have taken place for years and offer a special opportunity to participate in a highly challenging point-to-point, multi-hut tour.  Please call for more information on these fantastic experiences.

Come backcountry skiing or on a hut trip with us this winter!  Aspen Expeditions is owned and operated by internationally certified IFMGA/AMGA mountain guide Dick Jackson.  AE's formally trained and/or AMGA certified mountain guides have been teaching and guiding rock climbing, 14,000' peak climbs, alpine mountaineering, backcountry ski tours, avalanche courses, ice climbing, ski mountaineering, and hut to hut ski trips since 1976.  We'll take you up with no experience necessary!  

• Winter ski trip - Ski lift-accessed 'off-piste' or go on a guided backcountry ski tour with us.  Outside of Aspen, CO, we offer some of the finest backcountry ski descents with some runs more than 4,500 vertical feet.
• Hut ski trip - plan a guided backcountry hut trip that includes great ski tours from the hut.  Ideal for small groups of 4 to 8 people.
• Avalanche Education -These courses are highly recommended for all skiers, riders, snowshoe hikers, snowmobilers and people who venture out into the winter backcountry, whether heli-skiing, on a day tour or hut trip.
