Many people in our community have drastically reduced work and/or pay due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For those in search of available support, here are food distribution centers.
Community Food Distribution
Weekly Food Distribution
Tuesdays, 12 pm - 2 pm, Crown Mountain Park
Aspen Skiing Company operates a weekly food distribution Tuesdays from noon to 2 pm at Crown Mountain Park Pavilion parking lot in El Jebel. Everyone in the community is welcome to come and get free food boxes. There’s plenty for everyone, and we’d rather folks get food before they really need it. Food Bank of the Rockies provides the boxes, and there are bilingual and bicultural volunteers packing and distributing.
Wednesdays, 12 pm - 2 pm, Aspen Golf Club
Aspen Family Connections hosts a weekly food distribution Wednesdays from noon to 2 pm at the Aspen Golf Club.
Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, 12 pm - 1:30 pm, Aspen Art Museum SO Café
"Lunches for Locals"
The Aspen Art Museum (AAM) and museum SO Café culinary partners Allen and Julia Domingos (Epicure Catering) launch “Lunches for Locals”—a program designed to provide free, to-go midday meals for those in need throughout the valley as the local community undergoes a second wave of COVID-19 pandemic-related shutdowns.
Under the Lunches for Locals plan, free meals are offered from 12–1:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays to anyone signing up online via prompts provided on the AAM website (aspenartmuseum.org). The program will be ongoing for an indeterminate time in the foreseeable future. AAM Staff will be on-hand to help safely distribute the lunches, which will be available for pick up at the museum’s Spring Street entrance at the bottom of the AAM Grand Staircase. Visitor guidelines apply, with mouth and nose covering and adequate distancing required during pick up.
