Michael Hill Smith MW stands as a powerful advocate for Australian wines, embodying dedication and vision. In 1988, he emerged as the first Australian to conquer the challenging Master of Wine examination. The following year, he joined forces with his winemaking cousin Martin Shaw to establish Shaw + Smith in Adelaide Hills, transforming it into a leading winery known for its exceptional cool climate wines in South Australia.
