Due to state and county public health regulations, many of Wintersköl’s traditional in person events will not be taking place. Embracing this year’s slogan, 70th Wintersköl – The Snow Must Go On, there are still ways to enjoy winter and experience the spirit of Aspen’s historical celebration.

FREE! Wintersculpt 2021 Style - Enjoy Snow Sculptures on the Mill Street Mall, Aspen
Thursday, January 14th – Sunday, January 17th
The Aspen Chamber Resort Association presents snow sculptures created by local artist Thomas Barlow. Two 8’ x 8’ snow blocks will be carved into works of art beginning on Thursday, January 14th. The 2021 installations are inspired by the “70th Wintersköl - The Snow Must Go On.”

*Anderson Ranch Arts Center’s Wintersculpt & kidsculpt snow sculpture competitions will not be taking place this year. Thank you to Anderson Ranch Arts Center for its long-standing community Wintersköl partnership.

Available beginning Wednesday, January 13th
A tradition since the 1960’s, the annual button captures the slogan created through a community contest. Many have collected the commemorative button each year. FREE buttons are available at Aspen Chamber Resort Association Visitor Center locations.

FREE! Aspen Skiers on Parade Scavenger Hunt
The City of Aspen has partnered with Denver based company, Let’s Roam to host a free scavenger hunt through downtown Aspen called Aspen Skiers on Parade. Download the FREE app and then follow the tiny skier statuette clues. For those who complete the hunt correctly, a free cookie awaits as a prize…but you must play to figure out how to get it. To join the hunt, players must download the free Let’s Roam app for Apple or Android or go to www.letsroam.com/aspenskier from your mobile device. Users will then create a login and enter the code: AspenSkier. For more on Skiers on Parade and all winter activities in Aspen at www.aspenspecialevents.com.

Music has always been a part of a well-rounded experience at Aspen Snowmass. Continuing with this tradition, Aspen Snowmass is pleased to bring you another ski season of music, but with a new twist. This year, introducing Bud Light Music on the Mountain. As you ski around the mountain, you may find yourself pleasantly surprised with pop-up shows featuring local and regional artists entertaining you as you get on a chairlift or gondola. The music gigs will be small, intimate, and meant to entertain you as you go about your ski day.
Location #1 - Base of Village Express Lift 1pm - 4pm Jaunt Corporation ft. members of The Jauntee, Thievery Corporation, & Ghost Light

FREE! ACES Guided Treks | Snowmass Ticket Pavilion on the Mall
10 am & 1 pm: Daily
Join ACES (Aspen Center for Environmental Studies) for a two hour long guided tour through the natural expanse of Snowmass. Starting at the Ticket Pavilion on the Snowmass Mall, guests can snowshoe, hike, or use stabilizers to explore along the Nature and Sleighride Trails, keeping an eye out for winter creatures and learning about mountain habitats and ecology, Snowmass history, and more. In Snowmass Base Village, enjoy a mix6 S’mores Cup, complete with chocolate ganache. On the Snowmass Mall, taste the S’mores Bar, a secret recipe made of chocolate graham cracker crust topped with layers of rice crispy, homemade toasted marshmallow, and chocolate drizzle, sprinkled with graham crumbs, courtesy of the newly rebranded Slow Groovin’ Chophouse. Snowmass Luminescence is an interactive art and light display in Snowmass Village. On the snow between the Snowmass Mall and Base Village, stroll The Tunnel, a series of LED illuminated walkways and arches that will ignite your senses. Special interactive installation, Submergence by Squidsoup, by acclaimed artists add to the Luminescence experience: Snowmass Luminescence
