City of Aspen's Presentation Deck
The City of Aspen & ACRA Member Open House
Wednesday, December 1 | 9 -11:30 a.m. | City Hall, 427 Rio Grande Place, Galena Plaza Level
In partnership with ACRA, the City of Aspen invites you to learn more about the City’s “Safety and Mobility in the Downtown Core” project. This project, currently in a conceptual phase, is a vision for a safe, connected, and active downtown core in Aspen.
The City will lead a special project presentation starting at 10 a.m., followed by a Q&A session.
These events will be bookended by an Open House forum, 9 to 11:30 a.m., to provide attendees with an opportunity to talk with staff one-on-one and offer feedback through interactive displays at their pace. The input from this event will be combined with community input collected through December 2021 and January 2022, before presenting refined options to City Council in early 2022.
The City has been exploring how right-of-way (ROW) space could be allocated differently to increase safety for all pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers. Staff additionally are looking at how the ROW space use could improve mobility and connectivity and how to prioritize mobility options in the downtown core.
The City is continuing work with the community on increasing the educational outreach for the biking community, enhanced shuttle service for Spring/Summer 2022 to help improve mobility within the core, progress balanced concepts for the Galena corridor living lab, and preparations for an improved parking availability program that utilizes data efficiently.
The event is free and light refreshments, coffee, and tea will be served. For additional background on the “Safety and Mobility in the Downtown Core” project, please visit https://www.aspencommunityvoice.com/safetyand-mobility-in-the-downtown-core.
