Aspen Skiing Company invites all to a gathering in memory of Stein Eriksen who passed away at the age of 88 on December 27, 2015, at his home in Park City, Utah. Stein’s many contributions to the ski industry, and Aspen in particular, include his bronze medal finish in slalom at the 1950 World Championships in Aspen and his role as the ski school director at Aspen Highlands in the late
1950’s. After serving as ski school director in Sugarbush, Vermont, Stein returned to the area to found the Snowmass ski school in 1967. Stein’s biographer, Halvor Kleppen, will speak on Stein’s amazing career and his impact on the skiing industry. Stein’s son, Bjorn, will speak and also share a video in tribute to his father. Others are welcome to share words as well.
