This event will feature Judson Brewer, MD, Director of Research at the Center for Mindfulness and associate professor of medicine and psychiatry at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. A psychiatrist and internationally known expert in mindfulness training for addictions, Brewer has developed and tested novel mindfulness programs for addictions, including both in-person and app-based treatment, and has studied the underlying neural mechanisms of mindfulness and is currently translating these findings into clinical use. Brewer will discuss what ancient and modern science reveal about how we get hooked, and what we can do about it.
