Winter is the perfect time to bundle up for some adventurous learning! The bears may be hibernating but the natural world around Hallam Lake is full of activity. Despite the cold people, like many mountain animals, still, know how to be active and warm during the cold months. So, bring your kids to ACES this winter and learn about nature's quiet season.
This 8-week session runs January through March and includes fun educational activities with a different focus each week. Come learn alongside your children about the sleepy bears, busy beavers, snow caves, hungry birds, and so much more. During this one-hour class each Monday you will learn about animals, create nature art, sing songs, play games, explore outside, and acquire new tools and ideas that will cultivate your child's (and your own!) sense of wonder.
WHAT TO BRING: Please pack whatever you may need for this short outing with your kids - snack, water, extra clothing. You are welcome to pack lunch for entire family and stay after the class for your own picnic lunch!
HOW TO GET THERE: ACES family classes take place at various locations from Hallam Lake to Difficult Campground. All these locations are easily accessible via bike paths and we strongly encourage you to take this opportunity and make a bike outing for the whole family out of this adventure. Please keep in mind that Hallam Lake parking, in particular, is extremely limited. We will be in touch with you before the class to give you details on how to get there and where to meet.
