Tips for Keeping your Pet Safe During 4th of July Weekend
Dogs don’t sweat like humans and can suffer heatstroke far more easily.
Check the temperature on the ground; if it’s too hot to touch, then it is TOO HOT for their PAWS.
Have water on hand during the day to avoid dehydration.
Never leave your dog in a parked car on a warm day. In minutes, the temperature inside a car can soar to dangerously high levels, leaving pets at severe risk of heatstroke and even death.
Loud, crowded events are no fun for dogs- their ears are much more sensitive to noise than humans'. Resist the urge to bring your pet to the festivities. They will be safe and comfortable at home.
Be sure your dog is tagged or microchipped in case your furry friend gets loose or runs away.
