Bustang Aspen to Denver

Looking for a way to travel to and from Aspen without renting a car? Bustang offers service from Denver to Glenwood Springs, where you can easily transfer to a connecting bus into Aspen — and the route works in reverse depending on your destination.

ASPEN to DENVER

Follow these easy step-by-step directions to make connections all the way from Aspen Pitkin County Airport (ASE) to Denver International Airport (DEN) using a combination of the Roaring Fork Transit Authority (RFTA) bus system, Bustang and Denver's transit system (RTD).

Step 1: Download the apps and find the resources
  • Download RFTA app here
  • Download Bustang app here
  • Download RTD app here

Tip: Get Cash! Cash machine available in Aspen airport arrivals next to the information center. Buses may be paid for in cash, drivers DO NOT give change. RFTA cash price is $5 per person, Bustang cash price is $28 per person.

Step 2: Aspen to Glenwood Spring
  • Take RFTA from Aspen Airport Business Center (AABC) to Downvalley.
  • Get on a bus that says DV (downvalley) West Glenwood P&R
  • Note: Park & Ride is a bus stop not a terminal
  • Buying your RFTA tickets:
    • Open RFTA app you just downloaded and purchase a mobile ticket. It will provide you with a QR code to scan when entering the bus. If you choose not to purhcase a ticket on the app you must pay in cash. When purchasing yout ticket in the app your destination will be Glenwood Springs. You will bring your luggage onto the bus with you.
  • Exit the RFTA bus at W Glenwood P&R
  • Proceed to the Bustang stop adjacent to the RFTA stop. The Bustang stop is a covered bench behind the RFTA bus stop, approximately 30 feet from the bathroom.

Step 3: Getting on the Bustang
  • Purchase your ticket in the app you just downloaded. If you did not download the app, you can pay cash when the bus arrives.
  • Note: Luggage can be stored underneath the bus. Bustang is equipped with reclining seats, WiFi, charging ports and a restroom.
  • Ride the bus until Union Station in downtown Denver.

Step 4: Using RTD to Denver International Airport
  • Upon arrival in Union Station get on a train to the airport. Trains at Union Station are one level up from where buses pull in. Tickets to trains maybe purchased prior to boarding at kiosks at Union Station.
  • Ride the A line train to Denver International Airport
  • Additional details about the RTD system can be found here.
