Aspen Snowmass Announces Pass Line-Up, 2021-2022 Pricing and Winter Operations Plans

Products Include Premier Pass, Alpine Pass and Valley Pass

New Uphill Pass Introduced

ASPEN SNOWMASS, Colo. – August 16, 2021 – Aspen Snowmass announces its season pass line-up for the 2021-2022 winter. Passes go on sale Monday, August 16. The Alpine Pass joins the Premier Pass and the Valley Pass to give guests flexibility to customize their access and experience. In addition, an Uphill Pass will be required for all individuals travelling uphill on the four mountains.

“Skiing and riding filled a vital role last year for our guests and our community, offering an escape and a transformative experience during a tough time for all of us,” says Mike Kaplan, president and CEO, Aspen Skiing Company. “We learned a great deal last season and we are confident we can meet the challenges ahead and hope to return to something that feels closer to normal as the season nears. We feel this pass lineup will give people great flexibility and allow them to customize their access and experience to our four mountains.”

The Premier Pass, which provides unlimited skiing/riding across all four mountains with no blackout dates, an Ikon Base Pass, an Uphill Pass, more than $1,000 in exclusive benefits, and unlimited summer gondola and chairlift sightseeing access, costs $1,599 for Chamber members ($2,399 non-Chamber) through Sept. 17, 2021. The exclusive benefits include transferable vouchers providing discounts on lift tickets, lessons and rentals in addition to passholder discounts of 50 percent off lift tickets at Mountain Collective destinations, and discounts on ski/snowboard lessons and rentals from Four Mountain Sports. Premier senior passes cost $1,849, Premier Child, Teen and College cost $729, and Premier Silver costs $599.

The Alpine Pass gives passholders season-long access to all four mountains, allowing guests the flexibility to ski or ride one or two days each week with no blackout dates. Additional days can be added for 50% off the one-day walk up ticket rate. The Alpine One-Day Pass costs $999 for Chamber members ($1,179 non-Chamber) and the Alpine Two-Day costs $1,399 for Chamber members ($1,729 non-Chamber), when purchased by September 17.

The Valley Pass returns offering local residents still struggling with the impacts of Covid seven days across the four mountains, and this season with no blackout dates, for $429 when purchased by September 17.  Additional days can be added for 30% off the one-day walk up ticket rate. This Pass is for Roaring Fork Valley residents only, and passholders must have a Colorado driver's license showing an address within the eligible area.  Please visit the website for specific eligibility information.

With the dramatic increase in uphill travel on the four mountains, Aspen Snowmass will require an Uphill Pass for all individuals travelling uphill on its four mountains this season. The Pass will cost $69 and is good for the entire season, with $10 of this cost going directly to Mountain Rescue Aspen. The Uphill Pass is included at no charge to all Premier Passholders.  Uphill Passholders will be required to wear an Aspen Snowmass provided armband with a photo Aspen Card visible within the sleeve while skinning or hiking. For more information on the uphill pass, please visit www.aspensnowmass.com/seasonpass.   There will be a virtual Uphill Town Hall held on October 14, 2021. More information to follow.

“While we maintain one of the most welcoming uphill policies in the country, the recent uptick in volume across our mountains dictates that we implement the new pass system to better manage uphill access,” says Katie Ertl, senior vice president, Mountain Operations. “This system will allow us to have better visibility, manage impacts, dedicate staff and resources and better educate and communicate to uphill users to increase safety, access and infrastructure.”

Businesses located and operating in the Roaring Fork Valley and that are members of the Chamber of Commerce in the community in which the business is operating are eligible to purchase Chamber Pass vouchers for their qualifying employees and employees’ spouses. An electronic process will again be used for Chamber pass purchases so businesses can bypass the ticket office. There are three pricing deadlines for individual and Chamber member Premier, Alpine and Valley products:

Super Early, which offers the best rates on all season passes, for passes purchased through Sept. 17, 2021

Early, for passes purchased through Dec. 3, 2021.

Regular, for passes purchased after Dec 3, 2021.

All season passes are good for early and late-season openings. Season passes are nontransferable.  Fraudulent use is subject to a fee.

How to Purchase

Guests can purchase online and utilize the pickup boxes located at the base of our four mountains to avoid lines at ticket offices.  The Aspen Snowmass app can be used to upload photos and sign waivers to speed up the process.  Be sure to download and update the app to access real-time updates on parking, base lift wait times, snow and weather conditions and to access rewards, passholder benefits and sign waivers in advance.

Covid-19 Policies

The health, safety and welfare of our employees, guests and community is our top priority. With this in mind we will continue to monitor the Covid-19 situation including travel restrictions and vaccine mandates locally, nationally and globally. We are following the CDC recommendations and strongly encourage vaccinations for all guests visiting the resort. Future actions could include a reservations system, mandatory vaccinations or additional actions that we believe could help protect employees and guests and allow us to operate for the full season.

Refund Policy

Passes are nonrefundable. However, if operations are shut down due to Covid-19 for 10 or more days of the season, we will issue refunds, prorated for each day we are fully shut down compared to our published season dates, for all passes, except the Valley Pass. Refunds will not be issued in the event we implement a reservation system regardless of whether you are able to obtain a reservation for your desired days. Unused lift tickets are fully refundable.

Pass Insurance

Passes are nonrefundable and unused days have no value. For information about how to cover your season pass investment through Travel Guard’s Multi-Event Insurance, go to www.travelguard.com/multievent or call Travel Guard at 866-385-4839.

Operating dates for the 2021-22 winter ski season are as follows:
