Art Week Returns to Aspen on July 27
ASPEN, Colo. (July 15, 2026) – This summer, Aspen welcomes a wide variety of art-focused events for the season and beyond. Art is integral to the Aspen community, and the city plays host to a number of art fairs, festivals, and events both during Aspen Art Week as well as throughout the year. Art has become synonymous with the destination – and whether a longtime local or visiting for the first time, there are many ways to enjoy the incredible art scene Aspen has to offer.
Aspen Art Week Events:
The Aspen Art Museum presents a major summer slate of exhibitions, including Adrián Villar Rojas: First Gods, Lost Animals (July 2-Oct. 18, 2026), Arch Connelly: Straighten Your Wig and Pray (June 12-Oct. 11, 2026), and Kerstin Brätsch’s rooftop commission Fossil Psychic Stone Mimicry (Aspen) (May 20, 2026-March 31, 2027). These exhibitions build upon the conversations and themes of the second installment of AIR (July 27-31, 2026), Aspen Art Museum’s flagship initiative bringing together artists and cultural leaders, with the theme “Figures in a Landscape.” The summer culminates with ArtCrush on July 31, the museum’s largest annual fundraiser, which will celebrate Adrián Villar Rojas as recipient of the 2026 Lewis Family Art Award.
The Aspen Art Fair (July 29-Aug. 1, 2026) returns to the historic Hotel Jerome for its third edition under new director Kelly Cornell. Presented at the historic Hotel Jerome, the four-day fair is an intimate, boutique fair and immersive cultural takeover. International galleries are presented across purpose-built booths and hotel rooms, creating a uniquely social and experiential approach to the art fair format.
Intersect Aspen (July 28-Aug. 1, 2026) offers an intimate, curated setting for visitors to encounter modern and contemporary art and design presented by galleries from around the world. For 16 years, Intersect Aspen has been woven into the fabric of Aspen’s community, partnering closely with the city and its cultural institutions to become a reflection of Aspen’s unique cultural tapestry. Each year, Intersect Aspen transforms the Aspen Ice Garden into Aspen’s largest gallery setting. The 2026 edition will showcase ambitious installations, curated presentations, and a week of artist-focused talks, tours, and collaborations with Aspen’s leading arts organizations—creating a distinctive experience defined by exceptional art, thoughtful dialogue, and creative exchange.
Beyond Art Week:
Mall Fest 50, presented by Aspen Public Art and the Red Brick Center for the Arts in conjunction with the City of Aspen, celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Aspen Pedestrian Mall. Programming runs May through October as part of the Colorado 150 celebration and features public art installations including Shifting Light by textile artist Rachel B. Hayes, and In Bloom, a pavement mural by Chris Erickson.
This summer marks Anderson Ranch Arts Center’s 60th year of art-making in Snowmass Village, with a vibrant season of weekly workshops and lectures, including the 2026 Summer Series: Featured Artists & Conversations which runs weekly from July 9-Aug. 6. Ranch Week (July 13-18, 2026) is the Ranch’s signature annual celebration of art, community, and creativity, featuring the Ranch Gala on Wednesday, July 15 honoring artist Marilyn Minter as the 2026 International Artist Honoree, and culminating in the community Ranch Picnic and Auction on Saturday, July 18.
The Red Brick Center for the Arts and ACRA will host their annual Summer Celebration on July 21 from 4-6pm. The event brings together local artists, nonprofit partners, and arts organizations. Guests can create art, meet local artists, explore studios and galleries, and more.
The Aspen Institute’s Resnick Center for Herbert Bayer Studies presents Double Take: Recurrent Dialogues in the Art of Herbert Bayer (June 9, 2026-April 3, 2027). Curated by Adam M. Thomas, Ph.D., the exhibition rigorously explores key motifs in Bayer’s vast output across seven decades from 1920s Germany to 1980s Southern California and his enduring relationship with the Aspen landscape. The Resnick Center remains a cornerstone of the 40-acre Aspen Meadows campus and hosts community programs throughout the summer alongside the Aspen Institute’s flagship gatherings.
Aspen Fashion Week (August 8-10, 2026) brings together fashion leaders, designers, influencers, and enthusiasts for a celebration of creativity and innovation. Attend runway shows that showcase the latest collections, explore exclusive pop-ups, and enjoy curated workshops that inspire collaboration and creativity.
Aspen Art Walk (Aug. 28) explores the local art scene through curated gallery tours, celebrating the creativity and artistic diversity displayed around town. During Aspen Art Walk, tour premier galleries as they present impressive collections of modern and contemporary art. The tour also features talks expert-led talks, giving attendees insight into the world of art.
Buckhorn Public Arts recently announced the launch of the Aspen Arts Club, a new artist-in-residence and community programming space in the heart of Aspen, located at 315 E. Hyman.
