High Mountain Taxi I 970-925-8294

Unlike metropolitan airports, taxis may not always be waiting outside the arrivals gate, particularly late at night. Just give High Mountain Taxi a call and a taxi will arrive in a short amount of time to pick you up. This is Aspen's most frequently used taxi services and can accommodate up to 6 passengers with service in Aspen and Eagle/Vail.

Please note that Uber and Lyft are not common in the Aspen area. While the service is growing, there aren’t always rides available and not a dependable option for transportation.

Bustang is a public bus that operates between Denver and Glenwood Springs. You can take the Roaring Fork Transportation Authority (RFTA) bus to Glenwood Springs where you can get on the Bustang to Denver. Additional details below on how to get from Aspen Airport to Denver International Airport.

If you are in Aspen and need to get to Denver International Airport (DEN) follow these easy step-by-step directions to make connections all the way from Aspen Airport (ASE) to Denver International Airport (DEN) using our local Roaring Fork Transit Authority (RFTA) bus system, BUSTANG transit system, and Denver’s transit system (RTA).

Prepare:
- Download RFTA app
- Download BUSTANG app
- Download RTD app- Rapid Transit Denver

Tip: Get cash. Cash machine available in Aspen airport arrivals next to information center. Buses must be paid for in cash or tickets can be purchased through the app. Drivers DO NOT give change. RFTA cash price is $5 per person. Bustang cash price $28 per person.


RFTA I Aspen to Glenwood Springs
- Take RFTA from Aspen Airport Business Center (AABC)
- The bus stop is on the other side of the Highway 82.
- The bus will say DV (down valley) / West Glenwood P & R. (Note: Park and Ride bus stop is not a bus terminal).
- Purchase a ticket on the RFTA app or be prepared with cash.

- When boarding the bus open the app, open the Ticket Wallet and scan the QR code as you enter the bus. Get off at the W. Glenwood Springs Park and Ride (the Bustang stop is adjacent to the RFTA stop). You may need to transfer buses at 27th Street to get to West Glenwood Park and Ride.

Note: Buses from 3:30 pm – 6:00 pm tend to be full with commuters.


BUSTANG I Glenwood Springs to Denver
Be ready to pay cash or pay on app, it is the Denver Grand Junction (west line) the bus is black and labeled BUSTANG. Luggage can be stored underneath the bus. BUSTANG has reclining seats, WiFi, charging ports and a restroom on the bus. There is also a restroom at the West Glenwood Park and Ride. You will get off the bus at Union Station, it is approximately a 3.5 hour bus ride.

Note: The 7 pm bus arrives late at Denver’s Union station - use bus time to book hotel if staying overnight. If you need a hotel we recommend taking a look at the following hotels: Google, Trivago, Expedia and Booking.com.


RTD I Union Station to Denver International Airport (DEN)
At Union Station you will transfer to A- train to the airport. Trains at Union Station are one level up from where buses pull in, take stairs, escalator or elevator up one floor. Tickets to trains may be purchased prior to boarding at kiosks inside and outside. More information can be found here.

If you wanted to spend the night near Union station feel free to enjoy and take the train the next morning. There are also many hotels closer to Denver International Airport at Tower Road. There is also a Westin at Denver Airport.

If you’re unable to catch your scheduled flight out of Aspen and need to reach one of the nearby airports instead, here are alternative travel options to help you get there smoothly.
