Aspen: A Doggie's Delight

Dog Smuggler

Next time you're planning a vacation to Aspen, make sure to invite the whole family- even your pets! Many of Aspen's local establishments are pet-friendly and allow you to enjoy your trip with your pup by your side. Throw your dog more than a bone this year with a vacation to Aspen.

Dine With Your Dalmatian
Ever enjoyed a meal with your dog? The Little Nell's Living Room and Terrace Bar allows dogs to eat a gourmet meal from the dog menu as their owners experience five-star dining. Sunny, summer weather also gives dog owners the option to bring their pup to one of the many al fresco dining options in town that will allow you to tie up your dog alongside the patio. Hickory House, Limelight and Ajax Tavern are just a few favorite spots!

Style Your Schnauzer
Bring your pooch along to pick out his or her favorites! Looking to pamper your pooch and recharge after an outdoor excursion? Rocky Mountain Pet Shop has a plentiful selection of homemade cookies and cozy dog beds as well as a self-service dog wash and a large selection of toys and treats.

Pamper Your Poodle
Many Aspen hotels not only welcome canine guests but offer pet-friendly services.  The Little Nell offers in-room water and food bowls, pet menu selections, and a Puppy Jet Lag Kit to help your dog manage the change in altitude.  The Limelight Hotel is Fido-friendly and is located across from Wagner Park, a great spot for playtime with your pup. MOLLIE Aspen spoils your furry friend with in-room pet amenities and a delicious Canine Cuisine menu.Other pet-friendly hotels include the St. Regis Aspen Resort, Hotel Jerome, and Aspen Mountain Lodge.

Walk With Your Weimaraner
Aspen's various hiking trails, parks, and rivers are great spaces to exercise and spend time outdoors with your dog. Wagner Park, Paepcke Park, and Rio Grande Park are perfect for a game of fetch or frisbee. With the Roaring Fork River nearby, dogs can take a dip to cool off after walking along the Rio Grande Trail, trekking up the Smuggler/Hunter Creek Trail or taking on the challenging Ute Trail.
