In honor of International Women’s Month, the Aspen Chamber Resort Association is delighted to highlight some of the dynamic women making a difference in our community. Read below about some of the amazing women in our community who are making a difference and inspire us every single day. Susan Wrubel is the executive and artistic director at Aspen Film. She is a film executive with over 25 years of experience in film acquisitions, sales, production, financing and distribution. After 11 years in the New York art-house world, Wrubel became vice president of acquisitions and co-productions for Paramount Classics in 2004. Wrubel returned to New York in 2010, consulting for several internationally focused companies in content acquisition and aggregation, as well as packaging and securing production finance for independent producers. She is an executive producer on Maggie’s Plan, I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead, and the Oscar-winning Still Alice. Wrubel is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. Lindsay Cagley is a community leader, Snowmass local, and Nashville native. Lindsay joined Challenge Aspen as their CEO in May of 2021 with inspiration from her own father, who suffered a massive stroke leading to hemiplegia and many other life-changing secondary disabilities. Challenge Aspen creates possibilities for individuals and veterans with disabilities by adapting transformative experiences in the outdoors, inspiring new abilities and newfound courage for everyday life. Lindsay has worked with various boards and non-profits such as Breckenridge’s Mountain Top Children’s Museum and the Snowmass Village Rotary Club. She and her husband reside in Snowmass Village with their 7-year-old son who loves to ski at all 4 mountains of Aspen Snowmass. Learn more about Lindsay and Challenge Aspen here.
Hannah Berman manages sustainability programs, philanthropy, and initiatives to promote equity and justice. She helped pass a mill levy to increase teacher pay in the Roaring Fork Valley School District and legislation to create the first special-district for childcare in the nation. She is also the Executive Director of the Environment Foundation, which has donated more than $4.4 million since its inception to fight climate change, bolster clean energy at scale and policy level, and foster environmental stewardship. Her previous roles include a water lead-tester (recommendation: avoid the lead), cake baker (record: 16 lbs of butter), and environmental consultant (conclusion: not enough skiing included). She studied economics and environmental studies at Bowdoin College, with a minor in education. While on campus, she helped lead the “Diversity Matters” series about how race and class affect students’ campus experience. She was a 2022 National Fellow at the Clean Energy Leadership Institute. Hanna Faulhaber is a local halfpipe skiing champion with accolades including a bronze medal in Dew Tour 2021, 5 World Cup Podiums, bronze at X Games, and competing in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. Hanna started competing in the NorAm Cup series in 2019, quickly earning a first-place win in 2020 at her home mountain of Aspen, CO. She then earned bronze at the 2020 Youth Olympic Winter Games, since then her skiing has skyrocketed. Hanna skied to an impressive 6th place at the Olympic Winter Games in Beijing. In the 2022-23 season, Hanna shocked the world and won World Championships in the women's halfpipe competition, cementing herself as the most dominant on the circuit. Follow Hanna on social here.
Amanda Poindexter is the Owner of Full Circle Construction Services. Full Circle was founded in 2016 and specializes in sustainability in the built environment, making buildings more efficient and its occupants more comfortable. The company focuses on home energy ratings (HERS) for new and existing homes, sealing air duct systems using the Aeroseal technology, performing field tests to verify efficiency, and more. Amanda has had a passion for sustainability in the built environment ever since she fell in love with snowboarding when she was 12. A lot of Amanda’s time goes into volunteering. She’s chaired the USGBC (US Green Building Council) Roaring Fork Branch since 2014, and with the group, they host educational and networking events and has been on the Basalt Green Team since 2015, working on recommendations to Town Council for energy code revisions and recommendations. Recently, she’s a stakeholder for Aspen’s BPS (Building Performance Standards) Committee. The Committee is focused on creating a framework to bring existing buildings up to more current efficiency standards, with a consideration for the carbon footprint of these standards. She’s received her LEED AP, BD+C, is a HERS Rater, Energy Star Rater, and an ICC B5 Building Inspector. In 2019, she received CORE’s (Community Office for Resource Efficiency) Energy Pioneer Award and was a panelist at the Women in Green event at the USGBC Rocky Mountain Green Conference. She also was featured in the Colorado Builder magazine, in an article promoting more women to seek a career in a male-dominated industry.
