We are highlighting the incredible efforts of the Aspen businesses participating in the Colorado Green Business Network. This program supports and recognizes businesses that prioritize sustainability. Through this series, we'll showcase how these businesses are making a difference in our community through their impactful initiatives.
WooHoo earned bronze recognition at the state level. Below, they discuss their experience with the Colorado Green Business Network of Aspen and their commitment to sustainability.
Colorado Green Business Network of Aspen: WooHoo
WooHoo LLC is a herbal-based bath and body care business. We produce organic, simple, and natural everyday products such as body butter, sugar scrub, soap, bath salts, lip balm, & muscle salve. All of our products are small-batch and handmade here in the Roaring Fork Valley. WooHoo adores and believes in the power of nature, aiming to provide sustainable, high-quality products that you and your family can trust.
How has the Colorado Green Business Network been helpful to you?
The CGBN has been a helpful resource in making WooHoo more sustainable. It has shown me what sustainability really means, in addition to what that looks like in practice and the avenues we can take to operate more sustainably. It has been a great resource for questions and provides a community that has similar motives and interests in how business impacts the environment.
Sustainability Initiatives Highlights
In 2026, 10% of proceeds will be donated to the organization P.O.W. (Protect Our Winters). Additionally, we have aimed to reduce the amount of single-use plastic in our packaging and purchasing. We have also provided plastic-free alternatives to everyday items, such as our dish soap. As WooHoo progresses as a business, I hope to continue to provide more plastic free alternatives and continue to grow with sustainability as a top priority.
Why Should Other Businesses Join the Program?
Other businesses should join the program because it provides a community of like-minded people, and I believe there is power in numbers. Additionally, it is a great educational resource that caters to the specifics of how your business can operate sustainably.
Importance of This Work in Aspen
I believe Aspen is built on recreating in the great outdoors, that's certainly why I choose it to be my home. I consider this to be a great privilege and with that privilege comes a responsibility to protect the environment, not only for the earth as a whole but for our loved ones, wildlife, and generations to come.
Final Thoughts
I would like to say that I am very grateful for the CGBN and the work they do, in addition to all businesses that make an effort to operate sustainably. As far as future plans go, we hope to continue to develop plastic-free alternatives to everyday products and to always keep sustainability at the core of our growth and success.
