While Aspen’s summer season has started to rival winter in popularity, many visitors have yet to discover springtime in Aspen. From mid-May through mid-June buds blossom, filling the town with vibrant pops of color, and scenic outdoor adventures await. Before spring bursts into summer, the weather is warm, town is lively, and lodging prices are at some of their most affordable rates.

Ski season has come to an end, but there are still plenty of ways to get outside and experience Aspen. With long, sunny days and a variety of outdoor adventures, including biking, hiking, fly fishing, and more, spring promises action-packed days. The Aspen Golf Club also offers early season rates at their award-winning course during the spring season.

Experience Aspen coming into bloom and soak up the sun during a morning bike ride around town or mountainside hike. Rent a bike and cruise along the Rio Grande trail for a leisurely ride. While some hiking routes are covered with snow until mid to late summer, lower elevation trails are ideal for a spring outing, and many feature panoramic mountain views. Trails are filled with blooming dandelions, crab apple trees, and fresh greenery, giving hikers and riders the chance to take in Aspen’s natural beauty.
Spring is a great time to take advantage of dining specials and fewer crowds. Aspen’s dining scene offers a diverse range of cuisines and ambiances. Unlike the peak seasons, reserving a table is easy, and restaurants are quiet, giving diners a more relaxing, laid-back dining experience. While a handful of restaurants temporarily close for off-season, there are plenty of delicious dining spots that remain open.

Dining specials aren't the only deals happening during the spring season. Retail shops all over downtown Aspen offer discounts, making it the perfect time to recreate your wardrobe without breaking the bank! Besides shopping deals, discounted spa treatments and workout classes can be found at local spas and studios. From art galleries to charming, local boutiques to fine jewelry shops, Aspen has world-class shopping, and spring deals make it even sweeter.
Aspen has a rich arts and culture scene with offerings ranging from classical music to art exhibitions to theatre performances. During springtime, many organizations present events featuring local talent. The Wheeler Opera House is hosting Roaring Fork Rising this May, giving local artists the chance to showcase their work. The Aspen Art Museum is featuring artwork created by K-12 students from the valley, and the Red Brick Center for the Arts’ Aspen City Hall Exhibition presents the artworks of local and regional artists. Exploring exhibitions created by local artists gives visitors the chance to connect with the community and appreciate extraordinary talents.
