What To Do During the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen Outside of the Tents

Summer in Aspen

Every third weekend in June the white Grand Tasting tents in Wagner Park are raised for an unforgettable weekend of decadent tastings, seminars, and parties at the FOOD & WINE Classic in Aspen. One of the first festivals of its kind, over 40 years the Classic has grown from a small tasting event to "the grandaddy" of all food and wine festivals. While time in the tents is not to be missed, here are ways to continue the fun in Aspen:

DANCE!

Belly Up Aspen is one of Aspen's top spots for live music, hosting a variety of talent ranging from emerging artists to some of today's hottest musicians. Check out our calendar to see who's playing during the weekend.

Beginning on June 22nd, enjoy free music at the top of Aspen Mountain on Bluegrass Sundays. All you need to purchase is a gondola ticket, or if you're looking for a challenge, hike to the top of Ajax. The show begins promptly at noon, and the Sundeck provides delicious lunch dishes and drinks.

HIKE & BIKE!

Save some time for a hike up the Ute Trail or Hunter Creek, a bike ride on the Rio Grande Trail, a visit to the Maroon Bells or a run on the East Aspen trail. Summertime is a spectacular time of year to visit Aspen and is best seen on bus, foot, or bike!

SHOP!

Check out the locally grown produce, Colorado art, and jewelry at the Aspen Saturday Market. The market runs from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in downtown Aspen on the streets of Hunter, Hopkins, and Hyman. The Aspen Saturday Market hosts a variety of stands, including fresh pastries, local produce, and even adoptable puppies!

ATTEND!

From June 20-22, the FOOD & WINE Classic in Aspen will host over 70 celebrity chefs and beverage experts and offer over 40 cooking demonstrations and beverage seminars. With limited ticket sales, the intimate nature of the Classic- which hosts the best food and wine producers in the world- means guests can get up close and personal with their favorite celebrity chefs, winemakers, and influencers. Spend an action-packed weekend with the biggest names in the industry, while enjoying scenic mountain views and exploring Aspen!
