Live Music
JAS Labor Day Experience
JAS Labor Day Experience brings some of today's biggest artists, including Benson Boone, Tim McGraw, and The Red Clay Strays, to Snowmass Town Park for three nights of open-air live music. Pack a blanket and sit back on the lawn, make your way closer to the stage for an up-close view, or enjoy stage-front standing room and prime seating with VIP tickets.
Paul JAS Center
The live music continues after the JAS Labor Day Experience at the Paul JAS Center, a year-round community hub for concerts, education, and special events in the heart of downtown Aspen. Late night performances from Cimafunk (Friday) and Christone Kingfish Ingram (Sunday) are the perfect way to top off an action-packed day.
Belly Up Aspen
Catch a concert at Belly Up Aspen after enjoying dinner in downtown Aspen. The Labor Day Weekend lineup features An Evening with Shakedown Street and Buffalo Traffic Jam.
Outdoor Adventures
Hike
Difficult ◆
Labor Day Weekend is the perfect opportunity to complete that end-of-summer hiking goal. The Ute Trail is a strenuous uphill climb with bird's-eye views of downtown Aspen. If you're up for the challenge, hike the Ute Trail all the way to the top of Aspen Mountain and enjoy a mountaintop meal at the Sundeck before taking the Silver Queen Gondola back to the base.
Moderate 🟦
Conveniently located on the edge of downtown Aspen, Smuggler is a dirt mountain road with a steady incline. Take in panoramic views of downtown Aspen and Aspen Mountain along the way and from the Observation Deck at the top of the trail.
Easy 🟩
The East of Aspen Trail is a dirt and paved trail that runs along the North Star Nature Preserve. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife!
Bike
Difficult ◆
As an IMBA Gold-Level Ride Center, the Aspen area is home to top-notch mountain biking terrain. The Smuggler-Hunter Creek Loop is a rewarding ride with beautiful mountain views. The route starts on Smuggler Mountain Road and eventually drops down into the Hunter Creek Valley.
Moderate 🟦
Ride Maroon Creek Road to the iconic Maroon Bells. The steady incline makes it a moderate road ride, but e-bikes are also a popular way to access the Maroon Bells ($5 e-bike fee required).
Easy 🟩
Perfect for families and bikers of all levels, the gradual, mostly paved Rio Grande Trail runs from Aspen all the way to Glenwood Springs. The trail runs adjacent to the Roaring Fork River, offering beautiful scenery throughout the ride. Bike to the Woody Creek Tavern and refuel with lunch on the patio before riding back to town.
Events
Aspen Saturday Market
Every Saturday stands with fresh produce, artisan goods, and tasty treats line the streets of downtown Aspen. Whether tasting crisp apples or pears, chatting with fellow shoppers, or simply perusing the stands, explore the market.
