Motherlode Volleyball Classic: Held every year in Aspen over Labor Day Weekend, the Mother Lode Volleyball Classic has evolved from a small BBQ party to one of the top pro-am events in volleyball. Hike up Aspen Mountain: Labor Day Weekend is the perfect opportunity to complete that end-of-summer hiking goal. The strenuous uphill climb will typically take 2+ hours but the views at the top, lunch at Sundeck, and a free gondola ride down make the trek worth it. The trail runs adjacent to the Roaring Fork River, offering beautiful scenery throughout the ride. Bike to the Woody Creek Tavern and refuel with lunch on the patio before riding back to town.
