Adventure over the creek and through the woods on a guided hike up to the Hunter Creek Valley above Aspen! You’ll hike the popular Hunter Creek trail while hearing stories of one of Aspen’s closest mining-era “camps” and learning about the recent preservation efforts by the Hunter Creek Historical Foundation to stabilize the area’s historical buildings. Turn back from there, or make it a longer hike with the option to continue to the Hunter Creek dam site, which was a crucial source of power for Aspen’s early mining industry and electric company.
