Celebrate Art in Aspen This Summer

ASPEN, Colo. (July 18, 2025) – The Aspen Chamber Resort Association (ACRA) is excited to share new and returning art fairs, festivals, and events for the 2025 summer season and beyond. Arts and Culture are an intrinsic part of Aspen’s DNA. From the very beginning, Aspen’s culture has been shaped by the remarkable nature that surrounds the mountain town. Residents and visitors alike can see that inspiration come to life through museums, galleries, public art displays, historical sites, and art centers. This summer and beyond, Aspen offers an abundance of opportunities to discover and celebrate art and design, including:

  • The Summer Arts and Culture Celebration will take place at the Red Brick Center for the Arts on Thursday, July 24, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on the Red Brick Lawn. This vibrant community event will feature live music, performances, art activations, open artist studios, local nonprofits, and light refreshments.
  • The Bayer Center will host its annual open house for the public as part of the Aspen Institute’s 75th anniversary celebration on July 26. View the current exhibition, Sculpting the Environment: The Three-Dimensional Art of Herbert Bayer, considered the most comprehensive overview of the artist as a sculptor and landscape designer, and join Curators Koko Bayer and Adam Thomas for a talk and tour.
  • The Aspen Art Fair (July 29-Aug. 2) will feature more than 44 exhibitors from over 15 countries, alongside specially curated projects, conversations, and cultural programming set against the iconic backdrop of Aspen. Building on the success of its inaugural edition, the fair deepens its commitment to Aspen’s world-class cultural landscape through new partnerships, cultural programming, and increased exhibitor participation. The Aspen Art Fair reimagines the traditional art fair format by creating an intimate and immersive experience in hotels rooms and booth spaces as well as private home and collection tours, salon-style conversations, an expanded program of artist prizes and residencies, performances, screenings, and guided hikes, that embrace the creative spirit and natural splendor of Aspen. The Aspen Art Fair is co-founded by Bob Chase of Aspen’s Hexton Gallery and Becca Hoffman, fair director and founder of the arts organization 74th arts.
  • Aspen Art Week returns to the Aspen Art Museum with a robust series of newly commissioned performances and unexpected conversations in late July. AIR (July 29-Aug. 1), Aspen Art Museum’s new flagship initiative, is designed to explore the role of art in addressing the questions and complexities of our time through interdisciplinary collaborations, conversations, and site-specific artworks and performances. Established as a year-round program dedicated to commissioning and artistic research, AIR culminates each summer with dedicated programming. These gatherings celebrate the ways in which artists redefine leadership and expand our consciousness. Concurrent with AIR 2025: Life As No One Knows It, Aspen Art Museum is pleased to present exhibitions by Sherrie Levine, Solange Pessoa, and Carol Rama. In July, Anthea Hamilton will unveil a newly commissioned sculpture outside of the museum entrance. ArtCrush will take place on Aug. 1, and the gala will celebrate artist Glenn Ligon, recipient of the 2025 Lewis Family Art Award at the Aspen Art Museum.
  • Intersect Aspen Art + Design Fair (July 29-Aug. 3) will celebrate its fifteenth year in Aspen. This milestone edition promises to be the most expansive and engaging yet, featuring a record number of galleries, extended fair dates and enriched programming. An integral pillar of the increasingly vibrant Aspen Art Week, Intersect Aspen fosters a dynamic convergence between distinguished artists, galleries, curators, collectors and visionaries from across the globe and the local art community. Encompassing an expansive 16,000 square feet, Intersect Aspen transforms the Aspen Ice Garden into Aspen’s largest cultural canvas, providing an unparalleled gallery experience offering fair visitors an immersive journey through art and culture.
  • Internationally acclaimed artist Shepard Fairey returns to Aspen this July for a weeklong celebration of public art, music, and culture. Fairey will debut a new large-scale mural at one of Aspen’s most visible intersections, transforming a prominent intersection into a powerful visual landmark. The mural will be painted live throughout the week of July 20, culminating in a public unveiling and an exciting series of curated cultural experiences presented by 212GALLERY. In addition to the public mural, Fairey will exhibit over 100 pieces of artwork in Aspen. This one cohesive show, happening over a week-long celebration in Aspen, titled “One Earth” will reflect unity, nature, harmony and connectedness and lean into culture, community and the power of transformation. Fairey will also debut his artwork at Intersect Aspen Art + Design Fair.
  • During the Aspen Art Walk (July 31, 4 p.m.-8 p.m.), participants can partake in self-guided gallery tours, exhibition previews at Meuse Gallery and Aspen Collective Gallery, an artist talk by Simon Bull, and after party at Meuse Gallery. Featured galleries include Aspen Collective, Hexton Gallery, Galerie Maximillian, McHugh Gallery, Fat City Gallery, and Meuse Gallery.
  • Aspen Fashion Week (Aug. 7 – 10, 2025) is a vibrant celebration of creativity, innovation and the rich tapestry of the fashion industry. This inaugural event will bring together the fashion elite, designers, influencers and enthusiasts alike, all eager to witness the unveiling of groundbreaking designs that reflect contemporary trends and the unique style of Aspen. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities including captivating runway shows that showcase the latest collections, exclusive pop-up shops featuring emerging designers and curated workshops designed to foster creativity and collaboration.
  • The Public Art Program of the City of Aspen creates community by connecting people to each other and to place through art experiences that build upon Aspen’s legacy of innovation, creativity and spirited independence. Aspen Public Art is part of the City’s portfolio of cultural vibrancy funding which, in addition to commissioning new temporary artworks and maintaining the City’s public art collection, also provides arts and culture grants to nonprofits, Cultural Vibrancy Fellowships for artists, and Red Brick Center for the Arts’ community arts programming. Learn more about current Aspen Public Art projects here.
  • Anderson Ranch Arts Center is a nonprofit, year-round organization serving the personal and professional development of amateur and professional artists through workshops, artist residencies, exhibitions, tours, lectures, and community outreach programs for artists of all skill levels. The annual Summer Series: Featured Artists and Conversations program includes some of the most influential artists of our time, explores the work of world-renowned creators and curators, and hosts conversations with today’s most significant critics and collectors in both lecture and Q&A formats.
