Guided Adventures in Aspen

3 Rafting

Whether you are coming to Aspen for a weekend trip or you are a long time local, it's always a great option to hire a guide for the day to explore a part of the Roaring Fork Valley that you may not normally do on your own. There are a variety of guide services in the area that can take care of all the messy logistics for a more enjoyable time in the backcountry. Activities ranging from hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, backpacking, paragliding, rafting, fly-fishing, and biking, the following guide services can specifically tailor to your interests to make an Aspen experience that is all your own.

Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES)

ACES offers options to hire a guide to explore the mountains in a unique and personalized way. Depending on the season, you can either hike or snowshoe with a naturalist who can teach you about all the flora and fauna in Aspen's very own backyard. Prices start at $50/hour and can provide transportation and snacks if you wish.

Aspen Alpine Guides

AAG has been around since 1987 and their guides are some of the most knowledgeable in the Roaring Fork Valley. They can guide you in just about anything you want to do; hiking, rock climbing, mountaineering, snow-showing, cross country skiing, backcountry skiing, mountain biking, backpacking, hut trips, avalanche safety courses, wilderness medicine courses, and international trips! The group at AAG knows how to keep you safe in the wilderness while giving you the trip of a lifetime.

Aspen Expeditions Worldwide

Aspen Expeditions Worldwide offers backcountry skiing, ice climbing, rock climbing, avalanche courses, day hikes, and overnight camping, as well as international trips. Hire these guides for a fun day in the Aspen backcountry all while learning the skills it takes to do trips like these on your own.

Blazing Adventures

Blazing Adventures is primarily a rafting company, but they also offer scenic nature hikes, jeep tours, horseback riding, and hot air ballooning in the Aspen area. Even if you are not into getting wet on the river, Blazing Adventures has something for the whole family to enjoy.

Fly Fishing Trips

Taylor Creek Fly Shop, Aspen Fly Fishing, and Aspen Outfitting Company all offer guided fly-fishing trips on the pristine water that surrounds us. The Roaring Fork Valley is home to gold-medal waters that produce some of the most immaculate fish in the state. Hire a guide at any of these fly shops and learn the ins and outs of landing your biggest brown trout yet!
