Every year, over 1,000 scientists from around the world participate in scientific programs at the Aspen Center for Physics. The non-profit is internationally recognized as a unique environment for contemplation, concentration, and collaboration on its bucolic campus in the West End of Aspen. In the summer, cutting-edge research in the related disciplines of particle physics, condensed matter physics, astrophysics, biophysics, and mathematics is propelled forward through workshops, working groups and individual researchers. One-week conferences in the winter focus on forefront research topics. The Center is governed by a volunteer board of up to 80 members and a staff of three full-time employees. The Center promotes the education of the general public through lectures, outreach to schools, and community events. The Center is primarily funded through the National Science Foundation and looks to private foundations and individual donors for additional funding. View our website for more information.
