With the next release of gray wolves in Colorado potentially occurring in or near Pitkin County, Colorado Parks and Wildlife will conduct a “Living with Wolves” discussion on Tuesday, Jan. 7 from 5-7pm at the Pitkin County Library.
Pitkin County Open Space and Trails and the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies will co-host the public session, to be held in the Dunaway Room at the library. Local CPW staff will present information to the public in an effort to help the community to prepare for the eventual arrival of wolves on the local landscape.
Topics to be covered at this info session include:
- Living with Wolves on our landscape - how to recreate responsibly and safely, how to protect your dogs, what to expect and do if you believe you see a wolf.
- Wolf biology and wolves in Colorado - now and into the future
- The latest about wolf reintroduction activities on the Western Slope
There will be time for questions after the presentation and the session will be recorded by ACES.
