NU·TOPIA: A Lead with Love Pop-up

“NU·TOPIA, TOUR THE MYSTERY!” BRINGS DANCE, HUMOR AND MAGIC TO THE WHEELER FOR A WEEK IN JUNE

The Wheeler Opera House is pleased to announce NU·TOPIA, Tour the Mystery!, an original multi-media dance production. Produced by Roaring Fork Valley local Loren Wilder, this energetic production will rock the Wheeler with dance, humor, and stunning visuals to create pure theater magic while also serving as a poignant reminder of the body, mind, spirit connection. The cosmic message of our oneness, the exhilarating soundtrack by The Beatles and the conversion of the Wheeler into an immersive multi-media environment will provide a joyful experience that will transform the audience.

NU·TOPIA is an original multi-media dance production created and directed by Loren Wilder. It features lead dancers Amy Anderson and Greg Gonzales (a member of the Colorado Ballet) and dancers from the famed University of Utah dance department. Combine these talents with gifted local trapeze artists Jacque and Elyssa Edgerly and the cast of NU·TOPIA is complete--ready to inspire, entertain, up lift, and bring a message of love and hope for our times.

“We are very excited to be partnering with Loren Wilder as well as the Lead With Love team to bring this immersive new experience to the Wheeler to kick off the summer in a new and different way,” commented Wheeler Executive Director Gena Buhler.

Using John Lennon as a guide and The Beatles musical messages, NU·TOPIA explores the creation of a New Earth and the contemporary evolution of the Aspen Idea (body, mind, and spirit). In NU·TOPIA, the health of one’s inner life reflects and creates the health of one’s outer (or worldly) life. The message encourages conscious living and inner examination as the key to a healthy society, created one person at a time. These lessons for mindful existence pair with rock and roll to create an evening of unforgettable performances.

Working with NU·TOPIA and the Wheeler is Lead With Love, creating a weeks-worth of consciousness raising events in the Wheeler lobby including free morning class offerings of yoga and meditation. Lead With Love will also be hosting a lunch discussion every day. These lunches will feature special speakers/hosts to lead discussions on the virtue of the self-examined life and the attributes of self-care as major principals to healing ourselves and our world. Afternoons in the Wheeler lobby include healing practitioners and holistic vendors along with psychics, tarot readings and astrological forecasts.
