Experience an unforgettable afternoon of poetry and creativity at the Wheeler Opera House with storyteller and poet David Gonzalez. His debut collection, Soundings, has been hailed by U.S. Poet Laureate Emeritus Juan Felipe Herrera as “a most necessary voice” rich with ancestral echoes, cosmic wonder, and songs of humanity.
In this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to develop skills in personal reflection, collaborative creation, and artistic self-expression, guided by Gonzalez’s unique approach to poetry and performance. Featuring a live reading from Soundings by Gonzalez, participants are guided to discovering their own voices through the collection’s themes. Blending performance, poetry, and community connection, this gathering promises inspiration and artistic exploration for all who attend.
This workshop is free and open to the public, for ages 18+. Space is limited.
