The Library annually hosts a community event to kick off the Summer Reading Program, which runs from June 6 to August 6. This program encourages children, teens, and adults to read during their summer vacation.

Join Pitkin County Library for an exciting afternoon filled with delicious food from the Village Tart, engaging games, and fun activities like face painting. Sign up at the kickoff event and receive a Summer Reading Program booklet. This booklet will help you track your summer reading goals, participate in challenges, and earn prizes.

Guests will also find booths from community partners, including Kids First, Aspen Family Connections, Theater Aspen, ACES, Aspen Science Center, Aspen Historical Society, and Raising A Reader. This is a great opportunity to meet the people from the organizations the Library collaborates with throughout the year.
