What makes Aspen different than other mountain destinations?

Aspen offers four mountains on one lift ticket for the skier in your group, all attendees can find the terrain that fits them best. In addition to the typical outdoor mountain activities, Aspen has a year-round arts and culture community. From world-class music and film to leadership forums, festivals, and a wide range of performances, it gives you the opportunity to elevate your group's experience.   

Another factor that makes us different is our walkable historic downtown just steps away from our hotels. Allow attendees to explore on their own; no transportation or planning required on your end! 

What are the top reasons to meet in Aspen?

Aspen is known for its ski slopes, but there are other great reasons to meet here! From our hotels to meeting spaces to team building events to a vibrant dining scene, your attendees can find something to enjoy in Aspen. 

What are the unique spaces for meetings and events in Aspen?

Aspen has a wide range of unique meeting spaces that can suit the needs of your group, we are thinking of spaces outside the meeting room that can wow your attendees.  

What time of year is best to host a meeting in Aspen?

Aspen is a year-round destination. Aspen has four distinct seasons, while we are well known as a winter destination, summer and fall are also excellent times for groups to experience Aspen.

Which signature events happen in Aspen each year?

Getting to Aspen and Getting Around
What airport should attendees fly into?

The Aspen Pitkin County Airport (ASE) is located 3 miles from downtown Aspen, making it a convenient transfer for your attendees.  

Our surrounding airports include:

  • Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) a 1.5 hour drive to Aspen
  • Grand Junction Regional Airport (GJT) a 2 hour drive to Aspen
  • Denver International Airport (DEN) a 4 hour drive to Aspen 
What are the private group transportation options?

There are local companies available to handle your group’s private transportation needs. Whether that is an offsite venue or private airport transfers, it is easy to get attendees where you need them to go.  

What should I know about transportation options in Aspen?

Aspen’s downtown core is walkable and pedestrian friendly. Once your attendees arrive at their host property, they can walk to all the shops and restaurants that Aspen has to offer.  

In addition to a walkable downtown core, we have a bike share program called We-cycle complimentary for the first 30 minutes, a public bus system (RFTA) with complimentary rides within the City of Aspen and all four of our ski mountains.  

Ride shares are not readily available within Aspen, if an attendee is trying to get somewhere on their own we recommend High Mountain Taxi or the Downtowner, a free ride share service that operates within Aspen’s downtown core.

What can attendees expect when skiing in Aspen?

Skiing in Aspen offers access to four unique mountains (Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk and Snowmass Mountain) on one lift ticket, with plenty of sunshine and fresh dry powder. Across the four mountains, a wide range of terrain is available from beginner to expert to match the abilities of all your attendees. 

What winter activities are available other than skiing?

For the non-skiers in your group other activities that can be enjoyed are snowmobiling, cross country skiing, snowshoe tours with Aspen Center for Environmental Studies, ice skating, a spa day, shopping, historic walking tours, visiting museums, fly fishing or a food tour.  

What activities can my attendees enjoy in the summer months?

Summers in Aspen are filled with outdoor activities from hiking and biking (road, gravel, or mountain – take your pick) to fly fishing, horseback riding, white water rafting, paddleboarding and golf all of which can be as extreme or relaxed as your attendee’s desire. 

There are also arts and cultural events such as ballet, a show at Theatre Aspen, a performance from the Aspen Music Festival and School, an afternoon at a museum or a festival depending on the time of year and historic locations to explore.

What should I know about Aspen’s dining scene?

Aspen’s restaurant scene rivals that of larger metropolitan cities, with culinary options to suit any palate. Its offerings are a celebration of local ingredients, featuring a vast variety of cuisines with approximately 60 restaurants in our downtown core.

What’s the après-ski scene like in Aspen?

Aspen takes après ski to new heights, from locally brewed beers to popping champagne. Aspen has a range of venues that can satisfy those looking to party after the slopes or those who want to sip a cocktail in front of the fire while enjoying live music. Create a custom après experience for your group or join one of the many restaurants in Aspen when the lifts stop turning.

What private dining opportunities exist for groups?

Do groups have the opportunity to host dine-arounds in Aspen?

Restaurants in Aspen are frequently used for dine arounds, when groups are looking for offsites. Since most Aspen restaurants are on the smaller size, dine arounds are a great option for larger groups that are not interested in a restaurant buyout.  

What catering services are available for private homes or offsite functions?

A variety of caterers and private chefs can create customized menus with locally sourced ingredients, lean into a theme, or create something extraordinary to suit your event.
