ACES celebrates fall with annual Harvest Party at Rock Bottom Ranch
Families & guests of all ages invited to celebrate the harvest season in Basalt
Basalt, Colorado, October 1, 2019 — Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES) will host its annual Harvest Party on Saturday, October 12th at Rock Bottom Ranch. Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, ACES is supported by its members to provide educational offerings in the areas of ecological literacy, forest health, regenerative agriculture, and more.
ACES invites the entire Roaring Fork Valley to honor and celebrate the harvest season at this all-ages fundraiser for regenerative agriculture education for children, families, and young farmers. Grab your friends and family for this annual ACES party that features a locally-sourced lunch using ingredients from Rock Bottom Ranch, libations including Roaring Fork Beer Company beer, live music by A Band Called Alexis, and a number of harvest activities including apple cider pressing, face painting, pumpkin carving, vegetable harvesting, ranch games, and an art station with The Art Base.
For the second year in a row, ACES will also host a community pie baking contest. Categories include Best in Show, Most Creative, and Best Youth, and prizes include tickets to an ACES Burlap Dinner, a variety of Rock Bottom Ranch products, and a weeklong kids camp. For more information and to submit a pie, please email [email protected]. Participants can drop their pies at Rock Bottom Ranch on Friday, October 11th from 9AM-5PM or bring them directly to the event.
Discounted prices are available for tickets purchased before October 7th: adults/children are $15 / $5 for ACES members, and $18 / $8 for non-members. On October 7th, prices go up to $20 / $10 for adults/children and ACES’ membership discount is no longer available. Kids ages 3 and under are free. All tickets can be purchased at aspennature.org. Attendees are encouraged to purchase tickets early, as this event sells out every year. This is a public event, but guests are encouraged to consider becoming ACES members. To minimize our environmental impact, Harvest Party is a car-free event, with guests required to walk, bike, or ride one of our complimentary shuttles to Rock Bottom Ranch. Shuttles can be picked up at the Basalt Park & Ride or the Grace Church in Emma. Bikers can park at Basalt High School and continue the rest of the way on the Rio Grande Trail. Shuttle information will be e-mailed in advance to ticket holders and available via ACES’ website. There is no parking at the event.
ACES’ annual Harvest Party is made possible by Harvester sponsors, Bristlecone Mountain Sports, Christie’s International Real Estate, Forum Phi, and Monkeyhouse Carbondale; Seed Sower sponsors, Alpine Bank, Koru Ltd., and Reese Henry and Company, Inc.; Contributing sponsors, Holy Cross Energy and Hollyhock Farms; and In Kind sponsors, The Art Base, The Aspen Times, The Post Independent, Alpine Valley Services, Roaring Fork Beer Company, Of Grape and Grain, Whole Foods Market Roaring Fork, KSPN, and Gran Farnum Printing.
