AMERICAN AIRLINES EXPANDS SERVICE FROM DALLAS/FT. WORTH TO YEAR-ROUND
Daily Flights into Aspen Snowmass Now Scheduled to Continue through April and May of 2018
(Aspen, CO – 10.6.2017) After recently announcing American’s plans to bridge the gap between summer and winter seasonal service with nonstop flights from Dallas/Ft. Worth (DFW) continuing through October and November, the Aspen/Pitkin County Airport (ASE) announced that American Airlines now plans to continue nonstop service from DFW year-round next spring with the addition of daily nonstop flights throughout next April and May.
With nearly 800 daily flights to 200 cities including nearly 50 international destinations, DFW is the largest hub of the world’s largest airline. Aspen Snowmass will now be connected to the global network of American Airlines and its One World alliance partners 365 days of the year.
“We’re proud to offer customers from around the world increased service to the Aspen Snowmass community for outdoor activities available year round,” said Jason Reisinger, American’s director of Global Network Planning. “We’re also providing the local community greater access to our growing global network.”
Year-round American flights into Aspen Snowmass are now open for sale on www.aa.com with the new spring additions scheduled as follows:
Daily DFW-ASE April 3, 2018 – June 6, 2018:
AA 3005 Departs DFW at 8:55 a.m, arrives at ASE at 10:07 a.m. AA 3005 Departs ASE at 10:40 a.m. arrives at DFW at 1:43 p.m.
"There clearly appears to be demand for additional commercial flights during the spring and fall, and those are times when the airport is comfortably able to accommodate additional capacity, as well,” said Aspen/Pitkin County Airport Director, John Kinney. “We are very pleased that American Airlines has recognized this need and is now committed to serving it.”
“Were it not for American’s recent commitment to continue DFW daily throughout the fall, this week would have brought the end of American’s seasonal summer service into ASE,” noted Bill Tomcich, President of Stay Aspen Snowmass. “Looking at advance bookings and hotel occupancies, it’s apparent that every American Airlines flight from ASE is nearly sold-out for the next week, while October hotel occupancies in both Aspen and Snowmass are pacing towards record levels,” he added. “I am certain this is more than a matter of coincidence, and I expect these additional flights will also lead to more business to Aspen Snowmass next spring.”
Aspen/Pitkin County Airport is located only three miles from Aspen and seven miles from Snowmass Village, the closest airport to any ski resort in North America.
