FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ASPEN, COLORADO (December 13, 2018) — The Aspen Art Museum (AAM) announces the debut of the new après-style annual winter benefit event, The Next 2018, to be held at the museum Friday, December 28, 2018, from 3:30–6:30 p.m.
The Next 2018 is cochaired by Constanza Garza, entrepreneur, jewelry designer, and cofounder of the Mexico City–based tattoo studio, Sigue.Sigue.Sputnik (Estudio SSS), and Alexander Mason Hankin, an art enthusiast, philanthropist, and real estate developer who hails from Philadelphia and currently serves as an art columnist for Philadelphia Style Magazine and Board Cochair of the Young Friends of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Combining a traditional après-ski celebration, Silent Auction, and musical entertainment, more than 250 guests will be treated to fine food, premium wines, and auction packages featuring rarities from wine to high-end handbags and dazzling jewelry. Tickets and tables are on sale up until the event as availability and capacity allow, with a special single-ticket price that invites museum engagement to a wide spectrum of cultural, fashion, visual arts, and lifestyle enthusiasts. (See full list of ticket and table prices below.)
AAM Nancy and Bob Magoon CEO and Director Heidi Zuckerman: “In the nearly forty years the AAM has celebrated our singular and rare place within the Aspen community, The Next 2018 is poised not only as a savvy, fresh, and sophisticated new standout on Aspen’s winter social calendar for 2018 and years to come, but also a renewed vehicle supporting our internationally recognized, year-round contemporary art programming and all the opportunities it provides us in giving back to our community and its guests. Giving back and reducing barriers of entry have always been cornerstones of what we do at the AAM.”
In past seasons, the AAM’s winter benefits have raised a total of more than $1.75 million to advance the museum’s mission. These funds directly support the AAM’s mission of presenting the newest, most important evolutions in international contemporary art. Since the opening of the AAM’s Shigeru Ban–designed building in August 2014, the museum has expanded its community focus, and welcomed over 300,000 visitors in addition to the 15,000 children, tweens, and teens it has served annually through school, youth, and family outreach programs. The Next 2018 joins the AAM’s internationally celebrated ArtCrush summer benefit as a major annual funding source for the AAM’s award-winning educational and curatorial programming.
Alongside event Cochairs Constanza Garza and Alexander Mason Hankin and event Host Committee members Troy Carter, Danielle Hankin, Sarah Hoover, Kristin Johnson, Justine Karp, Makenzie Moon, Spencer Pariser, Maxwell Rispoli, Tatiana Seikaly, Alexandra Sharps, andRyan Skolnick, expected guests include: Eleanore and Domenico De Sole, Sara Paschall Dodd, Marcy and Leo Edelstein, Stefan Edlis and Gael Neeson, Idit and Moti Ferder, Christy Ferer, Sally and Steve Hansen, Holly Hunt, Melony and Adam Lewis, Susan and Larry Marx, Erin and Paul Pariser, Allen and Kelli Questrom, Katie and Amnon Rodan, Meg and David Roth, June and Paul Schorr, and Melanie and Lewis Sharps.
