From big-name features to fresh independent voices, Aspen Film Academy Screenings celebrates 30 years showcasing awards season contenders of high-profile, prominent end-of-year titles
ASPEN, Colo. - Nov. 29, 2022 - Aspen Film is excited to announce the program for its 30th Annual Academy Screenings coming to Aspen’s Wheeler Opera House and its recently acquired Isis Theatre from Dec. 19-23, 2022. The 17-film showcase kicks off with GLASS ONION, followed by a special, in-person Q+A with part-time Old Snowmass local actor Kate Hudson on Opening Night. There will also be an in-person Q+A on Tuesday, December 20 with director Scott Cooper following the screening of THE PALE BLUE EYE.
Aspen has long been a favorite winter destination for voting members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), and other various entertainment guilds. From big-name features to fresh independent voices, Aspen Film’s 30th Edition Academy Screenings brings the most highly anticipated and accoladed films of the year, vying for award attention. What began as an industry-focused event for voting members of AMPAS, BAFTA, DGA, PGA, SAG-AFTRA, WGA, and other entertainment guilds, has grown into a winter tradition, showcasing the year’s highest-quality cinematic achievements from here and abroad.
