Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk to open Friday with more than 1,000 acres of terrain

ASPEN SNOWMASS, Colo.—Dec. 17, 2020 — Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk will open for daily operations Friday, Dec. 18 with over 1,000 acres of skiable terrain between the two mountains. Starting tomorrow, Aspen Snowmass will feature over 2,600 acres of open terrain across all four mountains, with more scheduled to open as conditions allow.

Aspen Highlands will open five lifts and 700 acres which include a few runs in Temerity as well as runs on the Olympic side (Deception, Why, Why Not). Snow and safety dependent, some of the G Zone runs in Highland Bowl may open as well. Cloud 9 and Merry-Go-Round will be open and operating with limited indoor capacity and extra outdoor seating options.

Buttermilk will open four lifts and 350 acres of terrain making almost the entire mountain available for skiing and riding. West Buttermilk to the bottom, Tiehack and most of Main Buttermilk will be open. Bumps and the Cliffhouse will be open for daily operations with limited seating capacity.

Aspen Mountain and Snowmass will continue to open runs and lifts as conditions allow.

Aspen Highlands will run the shuttle between Buttermilk and Aspen Highlands at 50% capacity.

The Aspen Snowmass app will be updated with tracking, snow reporting, parking lot status and skier information as well as on-demand, on-mountain dining options for takeout. For more information, visit: https://www.aspensnowmass.com/aspen-snowmass-app/mobile-app.
