Aspen Chamber Resort Association Achieves Destination Marketing Accreditation
ASPEN, Colo. (July 30, 2019) — The Aspen Chamber Resort Association (ACRA) announced today that it has been awarded accreditation from the Destination Marketing Accreditation Program (DMAP).
DMAP is an international accreditation program developed by the Washington, D.C. based Destinations International. Achieving DMAP accreditation positions a destination organization or CVB as a valued and respected organization in their community. The accreditation decision indicates that ACRA has satisfied the rigorous standards set forth by the professional destination marketing community. Only four other destination marketing organizations in Colorado have this certification including Visit Colorado Springs, Visit Denver, Visit Estes Park and City of Montrose Office of Business and Tourism, and Boulder is also receiving the certification this year.
“Aspen Chamber Resort Association has been working since the beginning of the year to submit 119 standards towards this accreditation,” said Debbie Braun, President and CEO of ACRA. “While we had many of the requirements in place prior to our submission, going through the process and looking at Destinations International’s standards holistically, elevates the work we are doing as a destination management organization and pushes ACRA to continue to Defy Ordinary. We are thrilled to be honored with this distinction and look forward to continue our work promoting the Aspen community as a remarkable travel destination.”
In 2015 Braun earned the Certified Destination Management Executive (CDME) certification, the only integrated executive program specifically designed for the Destination Marketing industry and the tourism industry’s highest individual educational achievement. CDME is also a program of Destinations International. The focus of the program is on vision, leadership, productivity and the implementation of business strategies. Eliza Voss, Director of Marketing at ACRA, has already begun the CMDE certification process and plans to complete it in 2020.
DMAP is an international accreditation body and a leader in defining quality and performance standards in destination marketing and management. For additional information on DMAP visitwww.destinationsinternational.org.
