Aspen welcomes the return of Montreal-based Compagnie Marie Chouinard, last seen in Aspen in 2017. Choreographer Marie Chouinard explores the poetics of the body in immediate, intelligible and ever-surprising ways. Her company, both edgy and provocative, is revered throughout the world, astounding audiences with the visceral intensity of its performers. The centerpiece of the evening will be Chouinard’s animalistic masterwork, The Rite of Spring*, an enthralling and gut-wrenching rendition fueled by the magnificent Stravinsky score. Completing the program is Chouinard’s 24 Preludes, set to Chopin’s iconic opus.
