When Nicholas McGegan and AMFS alumna Simone Porter teamed up for a Hollywood Bowl concert last summer, it proved to be a captivating collaboration. Indeed, McGegan’s infectious enthusiasm and the 20-year-old violinist’s “big, plush tone and lots of dynamic contrasts and drama” made for a “winning night of Vivaldi,” according to the Los Angeles Times. this program features a fresh take on Baroque gems, including works by many French composers, including Rameau and Lully, and including two of Vivaldi's sparkling violin concertos played by Porter.
The Aspen Music Festival and School presents up to 10 events a day, including performances by five orchestras, fully staged operas, chamber music, recitals, family events, master classes, panels, and lectures.
