Theater Masters: Meeting on the Page Crafting your story
Mon, 07/09/2018 - 04:00 PM - Fri, 07/13/2018 - 04:00 PM
MEETING ON THE PAGE: Crafting your story.
A playwright’s work is a body of evidence that speaks to his or her personal history and experience of the world around them. In this 4-day workshop, led by Emily Zemba (Playwright, Yale School of Drama MFA '15) we’ll be exploring tactics and tools playwrights use to unearth raw material from our own lives and turn it into playwriting. We’ll share family stories, engage with our surroundings, devise work on our feet, and challenge the very idea of what makes a play “a play.” By the end of the week, participants will have created several short theatrical pieces, and be well on their way to crafting a full-blown-play. Workshop recommended for adults and young people 12 and up!
DETAILS: $125* for ths 4-day playwriting workshop. *Financial assistance is available! Please contact [email protected]!
WHERE: In and around Downtown Aspen. Space TBA. (We’ll be visiting Aspen Art Museum, The John Denver Sanctuary, and more!)
