Embark on a journey from The Little Nell by bike to arrive at a rustic chic setting for an al fresco dinner. This summer's destination is Mad Dog Ranch in Old Snowmass, formerly owned by musicians Glenn Frey and Jimmy Buffet.
Guests should arrive at lower gondola plaza by 3:30 pm for registration, introductions, a safety talk and an opportunity to select wines for dinner from our 20,000-bottle cellar. Each participant is asked to come ready to ride, equipped with a bike, helmet and water bottle. You may also bring a bag with a change of clothes for dinner that will be delivered by our valets. The Little Nell will provide ambassadors to join for the adventure and a support vehicle. If you would like to rent bikes, they are available from Four Mountain Sports, as are eBikes that offer pedal assistance should you prefer this option. When registering, please let us know if you plan to ride an eBike so we can be certain to have an ambassador on one as well.
The group departure is at 4 pm and the ride is approximately one to one-and-a-half hours. Descend 15 miles down the Rio Grande Trail alongside breathtaking meadows and the Roaring Fork River. Upon arrival at Mad Dog Ranch, you'll be treated to hors d’oeuvres and sparkling wine as you enjoy a live musical performance in the ranch’s recording studio, followed by an al fresco, farm fresh dinner prepared by The Little Nell chefs. Around 8 pm, The Little Nell will provide return transportation to deliver you and your bike to the hotel.
We’re taking extra measures to provide for the safety of our guests and staff. We ask that all participants please wear a mask when they arrive to lower gondola plaza, which may be removed once the bike ride starts. We’ll depart in smaller groups to ensure participants maintain a distance during the bike ride. When arriving at the ranch, we ask that you put your mask back on anytime you're walking around the property or in the recording studio. When seated for dining, your mask may be removed. For additional measures, Mad Dog Ranch will be thoroughly sterilized before and after our visit.
