From Ute hunting grounds to a silver mining hub to a renowned ski resort, Aspen has a compelling history. The Independence Ghost Town, located just below the summit of Independence Pass, and Ashcroft Ghost Town, located on Castle Creek Road, are home to historic mining sites. Independence Pass and Castle Creek Road offer some of the best displays of the fall colors, giving you the chance to enjoy beautiful scenery along the way.
