The 10th Annual Pristine Riders Trash Crush community clean-up and environmental stewardship event is being held Friday, May 23rd from 10:00 AM-12:30 PM rain or shine meeting and getting geared up at North Star Nature Preserve’s South Gate parking lot. The event is hosted by Pristine Riders, a local 501c3 non-profit combining a passion for cycling and cleaning up the environment and by Sun Dog Athletics, celebrating their 29th Anniversary as “Aspen’s Adventure Sports School” in May. The volunteer litter clean-up along Hwy 82 east of Aspen, East of Aspen trail, ABC trail, Castle Creek Rd., Maroon Creek Rd., McClain Flats Rd. and Owl Creek Rd. is necessary to address historic litter and an ideal way to give back, showing appreciation for life in the Elk Mountains. Trash Crush also boosts awareness of environmental stewardship, inspiring others to take ownership and care for our natural surroundings each day. If we all do a bit, it will mean a lot! Partnering with CDOT Adopt-A-Highway program, orange safety vests & trash bags will be provided. Partners and sponsors include Pitkin County, City of Aspen and the Aspen Chamber Resort Association.
The first 25 volunteers to sign up at [email protected] will receive a complimentary volunteer alfresco lunch courtesy of BUCK, a locals’ favorite restaurant and bar. Trashy Awards & a special volunteer raffle, with special prizes will be presented. Adults age 18 and older and kids age 7 and older accompanied by adults are invited.
Sun protection, long pants, work gloves, water and extra clothing for changing weather are suggested.
