
Aspen Film + Aspen Institute Arts Program Present:
For over a decade, the Eisner/Lauder New Views Documentaries and Dialogue series has provided audiences in Aspen with provocative new films and conversations with filmmakers and special guests. After two years of virtual programming, Aspen Film is excited to be back live this summer with screenings and conversations taking place at the Isis Theatre. This popular summer series is part of the Aspen Institute Arts Program and is generously funded by Leonard Lauder and Michael and Jane Eisner. All documentaries will show at the Isis Theatre in Aspen.

Subject unpacks the ethics and responsibility inherent in documentary filmmaking by examining well-known documentaries of the past decade, and revealing the impact their commercial success has had on the lives of the onscreen subjects.

STILL WORKING 9 TO 5
When the highest grossing comedy, 9 to 5, starring Jane Fonda, Dolly Parton, Dabney Coleman and Lily Tomlin, exploded on the cinema screens in 1980, the laughs hid a serious message about women in the office. Still Working 9 to 5 explores why workplace inequality 40 years later is no longer a laughing matter.
