Aspen Chamber Resort Association Kicks Off Petal it Forward Campaign
Community recognition program to highlight interconnectedness between residents and travelers
ASPEN, Colo. (June 13, 2024) - Aspen Chamber Resort Association (ACRA) today announced its new campaign, “Petal it Forward” which highlights ACRA’s work and engages Aspen residents, local businesses, and travelers in gestures of appreciation for those who leave a positive impact on the community.
The campaign invites everyone to extend gratitude to each other through event pop-ups, online story submissions and online flower sharing. The Petal Cart will pop-up around Aspen and offer passersby the opportunity to pick up a flower and give it away to a local, a visitor, a business, or a part-time resident who deserves a moment of appreciation.
The live events will be complemented by online extensions where notable stories can be shared and digital flowers downloaded and passed along via text and social media. The culmination of these moments will have an ongoing presence on ACRA’s social media properties and the campaign landing page (aspenchamber.org/petalitforward).
“We are excited to kick off this campaign and recognize exceptional individuals and businesses while also educating residents and visitors on the efforts of ACRA and our community. From committing funding to the Independence Pass Foundation and Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers via the Aspen Pledge, to creating safe and welcoming spaces for BIPOC and other minority groups, the breadth of our work is expansive and only made possible by everyone who makes Aspen, Aspen,” shared Eliza Voss, ACRA Vice President of Destination Marketing. “The ‘Petal it Forward’ campaign is an extension of our work that encourages those who live, work, and play here the opportunity to give flowers and share in moments of gratitude around the community.”
To kick off this pay-it-forward campaign, ACRA delivered eight bouquets to those who embody ACRA’s core values of welcome, transparency, relationships, community, collaborate, adapt, engage and celebrate. The first round of recipients included the Aspen Elks Lodge, Pitkin County Library, John Hailey, DJ Watkins, Denali Barron, Karin Teague, Julie Lampton, and Lo Semple.
Now residents, businesses and visitors can highlight exceptional interactions by visiting the Petal Cart at the following events:
- June 27, 4-6pm at the AMFS Community Pride Celebration
- July, activation information forthcoming
- August 15, 4-6pm at Summer Arts & Culture Celebration
- September 21st at the Aspen Saturday Market
Those who receive a flower are encouraged to share their moment on social by tagging @AspenCo to watch the gratitude grow. To learn more or to recognize an individual or business with a longer form story, please visit aspenchamber.org/petalitforward.
