Spring in Aspen is short and sweet. You can experience spring ski days in March and April while enjoying warmer temperatures, goggle tans, and outdoor après-ski experiences. Bluebird days are plentiful, but most springs bring fresh snow and some of the best powder days of the season. The official ski season typically ends in mid-April, but with the right conditions, extra days will be announced. While the weather may be fickle, there are no shortage of ways to get outside and explore Aspen.
After the ski season ends, you can enjoy a quieter time in town while the crocus, daffodils and crab apple trees bloom. When the roads are clear, cyclists can enjoy road biking to the Maroon Bells or top of Independence Pass without cars before the roads open for the summer season. Late May and early June are ideal for white water rafting; as the snow is beginning to melt, the rising rivers are ready to take you on a wild ride.
Spring also brings opportunities to relax, explore arts and culture events, dine at local eateries, or enjoy fly-fishing and a lower elevation hike. With range of activities unlike any other season, there’s something for everyone to enjoy in Aspen this spring.
