Aspen, long known as a destination for travelers seeking beauty and tranquility, is proud to announce that now the journey itself is part of a larger commitment to the environment. The Aspen Chamber Resort Association (ACRA) has partnered with The Good Traveler program to introduce a carbon offset incentive that benefits every visitor and the valley alike.
Traveling to Aspen, groups can now leave a lighter carbon footprint behind. ACRA's initiative ensures that the carbon emissions from both air and ground transportation are not just offset but contribute directly to local conservation efforts. By organizing travels through ACRA, groups can engage in a process that has meaningful impact on the ecosystem of the destination.
Every step of this program is designed with simplicity and impact in mind. Groups submitting their RFP or reaching out to the ACRA sales team are embarking on a journey where every mile traveled supports a cause. The Good Traveler's platform transforms air travel into an act of ecofriendliness, channeling funds to national projects that tirelessly work to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and balance our planet's climate.
The Good Traveler was founded in 2015 by San Diego International Airport (SAN) to help both airports and travelers reduce their carbon footprint. Today, the program has grown to include more than 20 airports, airlines, and fixed-base operators (FBOs) that operate at airports. The program works with these aviation partners to give travelers the ability to purchase certified carbon offsets. All offset funds support emissions-reducing projects in North America that are third-party verified to be of the highest quality.
In Aspen, the proceeds from the carbon offsets are funneled directly into the Wilderness Workshop, a local bastion of conservation that diligently works to protect and preserve the wilderness and natural landscapes that make Aspen truly special.
Liz Watson, ACRA Director of Sales, encapsulates this ethos stating, "We believe that sustainable travel is not just a trend, but a responsibility. By integrating The Good Traveler's platform into our services, we hope to provide our guests with an opportunity to give back to the environment and support the fantastic work of Wilderness Workshop."
The Aspen Chamber Resort Association stands as a unique entity, a hybrid of a traditional chamber of commerce and a destination management organization. With departments dedicated to Destination Marketing and Group Sales, Membership, Special Events, and Visitor Services, ACRA is poised at the intersection of business support and visitor experience enhancement.
For those planning a visit to Aspen or coordinating group travel, the opportunity to make a positive environmental impact is just a click away at ACRA's website. Here, sustainable travel is not a buzzword; it's a practice ingrained into the very fabric of the visitor experience, setting Aspen apart as a leader in responsible tourism.
As travelers and groups ascend towards Aspen's heights, they can now also elevate their commitment to the planet, one trip at a time, thanks to the visionary partnership between ACRA and The Good Traveler program.
