Wedding Wednesday: Robin Proctor, Photographer

wed

This week's Wedding Wednesday features Aspen photographer Robin Proctor. An Aspen wedding celebration can be anything you dream: an intimate ceremony in a park, or an elaborate affair atop a mountain. The best way to capture those dreams for years to come is with a professional photographer.

ACRA: What inspired you to become a wedding photographer?

RP: I was shooting a wedding just for fun with my sister and I instantly loved it. The energy, being surrounded by love and happiness all day, and most importantly, they loved their wedding photos. So I thought, I want to do this more!

ACRA: How would you describe your style?

RP: Candid documentary with stylish natural poses. I don't pose anything except the formals. With this approach, people can relax and be themselves all day and enjoy every moment of their wedding. We have a set time for posing and then that is it.

ACRA: What are your favorite wedding moments to capture?

RP: The entire day! There are always special moments to capture. The bride getting ready, then walking up the stairs to be married, the anticipation, you can definitely see it on her expression. Then the groom seeing his bride walking down the aisle; the first dance with one of their good friends singing in the background, and best of all, sharing a moment at the top of Aspen Mountain, you can just feel the love in this image. This is what I wish for every couple, to enjoy each other in the gorgeous outdoor environment.

ACRA: Do you have any favorite venues to shoot engagement or wedding photos?

RP: Any location where I can capture the natural beauty of Aspen/Snowmass. On top of a mountain like Ajax, Buttermilk, Elk Camp, in a beautiful meadow in Ashcroft or T Lazy 7 Ranch, Maroon Bells, Aspen Meadows Resort - with permission. You also don't have to go far, you can get a great mountain shot from in town, like at Hotel Jerome on their balcony or the St Regis in the courtyard.
