You’ve found the perfect match to your STRAVA all-time PR, and you’ve committed to spending the rest of your lives together. There is no better place to start the adventure of marriage with your betrothed than participating in the fun that helped you fall in love with them in the first place. Whether it’s skiing, hiking, biking or fishing, Aspen has your adventurous spirit more than covered.
First Tracks as Husband and Wife
Of course we love a good wintertime “I do” in Aspen, the ultimate alpine destination. During winter months this means the opportunity to ski our four area mountains together and into your new lives as a married couple. On Aspen and Snowmass take part in Aspen Skiing Co.’s First Track’s program. With reservations, skiers or snowboarders, level 7 or higher, can meet at the Silver Queen or Elk Camp Gondola and enjoy guided access to untouched slopes and fresh powder, creating memories of your love for skiing and each other to last a lifetime.
Hiking at the Maroon Bells

There is no more beautiful location in North America than the Maroon Bells in autumn. The bright blue sky, the shimmer of golden aspen leaves and a sparkling alpine lake frame the ideal setting for a couple who loves to hike together. Consider tackling Buckhorn Pass together, a 12-mile roundtrip hike with about 2,800 feet of elevation gain. It’s a difficult but rewarding effort with endless views of the Elk Mountain Range. In winter, getting to the Bells requires an approximately six-mile hike, ski or snowmobile, where roads and trails are not maintained for winter travel, making for a spectacular background covered in snow.
Catching The One (Flyfishing)
Aspen’s Roaring Fork River is rated Gold Medal Water, which is a fancy way of saying this river runs clean and is full of healthy fish. While the rule around these parts is “catch and release,” (you can’t keep them!) fishing is one of the most iconic ways to celebrate marriage in the mountains. Enjoy a day out with Aspen Outfitting Co. or whet your lines together anywhere along the Roaring Fork River. While fishing naturally peaks in summer, winter fishing is another fantastic time to try your luck while the fish are hungry and the quiet peace of the river rings truer than ever.
Hearts Expand in the Castle Creek Valley
Enjoy a winter hike or cross-country skiing adventure in the Castle Creek Valley. Loop the ghost town of Ashcroft or head deeper into the backcountry near Star Pass. (With all necessary backcountry training.) Afterward, warm up by the fire at Pine Creek Cookhouse, a picturesque log cabin restaurant which serves both lunch and dinner throughout the year. For those who would like to access Pinecreek in a different method of transportation, guests can walk a three-mile packed snow path or be taken to and from the cabin via romantic carriage rides.
