Looking for a trip the whole family will love? Aspen offers a diverse range of fun family activities that both adults and kids can enjoy. From learning to ski on our world-class slopes to snowshoeing with Aspen Center for Environmental Studies, discover a few of the best family friendly winter adventures in Aspen:

Hit the Slopes
Whether you're an experienced skier or interested in taking up the sport, teaching your family or learning together is a fun way to spend quality time and create lasting memories. No matter of your ability, consider taking a family ski lesson where a pro will show you around the slopes and give you helpful tips. While you're on the mountain, hit the tree trails with the kids and try to spot the characters and trinkets hanging from the trees as you wind through the forest. After skiing a run, chatting on the chairlift is an excellent way to bond as family without phones getting in the way; on frosty winter days, nobody wants to pull their hands out of their gloves on the lift!

Take a Guided Tour
A variety of educational and fun guided tours give families the chance to explore Aspen beyond the slopes. Take a snowshoe tour with ACES through the beautiful and pristine Castle Creek Valley, the forests of the Snowmass Ski Area, or the snowy scenery at the top of Aspen Mountain. The snowshoe tours are led by an ACES Naturalist; learning about local ecology and history or uncovering animal tracks promises to be a fun and memorable family outing.
For the more adventurous family, consider a T-Lazy 7 Ranch snowmobile tour through the Maroon Creek Valley, Independence Pass, or the White River National Forest. Snowmobiling offers an exhilarating way to explore the Aspen area.

Aspen Recreation Center
No matter what the weather is outside, people of all ages will enjoy an action-packed day at the Aspen Rec Center, aka the ARC. Ice skate on the NHL-sized indoor rink, navigate to the top of the indoor climbing wall, take a ride down the Whoa Nelly sledding hill, or splash around the indoor pool as a family. Floating around the lazy river or zipping down waterslides is a blast and the hot tubs are a great way to warm up after an outdoor adventure.

Family Dinners
Eating is a definite family fun activity, especially at the right family friendly, laid back restaurant.
CP Burger offers delicious burgers and hot dogs paired with fries and milkshakes in a playful, relaxed setting. Afterwards, enjoy ice-skating under the stars on Aspen’s only outdoor ice-skating rink.
Brunelleschi's is a kid-friendly restaurant famous for thin crust pizza, a crowd pleaser! Kids can put on a chef hat and get to work making their own pizza while the adults unwind with a glass of wine in hand.
After dinner, head over to Paradise Bakery, a beloved local staple and literally paradise, for homemade ice cream or a freshly baked cookie.

Arts and Crafts
Head over to the Aspen Art Museum and explore the exhibits alongside your family members. On select dates, the Aspen Art Museum hosts free family workshops, giving families the chance to create art of their own after enjoying the exhibition.
Check out the Red Brick Center for the Arts; explore the exhibitions, including works created by local artists, and the kids art programs, designed to teach children about the visual arts, spark creativity, and socialize with others.
For a relaxing family friendly experience, join Pitkin County Library for a weekly children's lap-sit story time.
