4 Places to Enjoy Outdoor Music in Aspen

Tent and Lawn pc Alex Irvin detail

Aspen is all about enjoying life outdoors, so what better way to enjoy some of Aspen’s top music scenes than to post up outside and take in all Aspen outdoor music has to offer? Check out our top picks for outdoor music to enjoy this summer below:

1. Top of Aspen Mountain: Every Saturday starting until August 10, you can enjoy classical music performed by students from the world-renowned Aspen Music Festival & School. At 11,000 feet up, be sure to pack a lawn chair and picnic to sit back, take in the views, and enjoy the different repertoire performed by these talented musicians. Not into classical music? Alternatively, you can ride the Silver Queen Gondola up every Sunday morning at noon to enjoy BlueGrass Sundays till 3 p.m. located outside the Sundeck restaurant. Both concerts are free in addition to your purchase of a gondola ticket.

2. Michael Klein Music Tent: owned by Aspen Music Festival & School, the Michael Klein Music Tent is the perfect outdoor venue to rejoice in the wonderful acoustic world of Aspen. Orchestras typically perform in this open-air tent during the summer, where viewers will be sure to appreciate the passionate music being performed in the great outdoors. 3. Snowmass Free Music Series: This free outdoor music series hosted by Snowmass Tourism, is the perfect family-friendly event to go enjoy music outside. Typically hosted on Thursday, thousands gather to enjoy acclaimed musicians performing as they picnic and watch the sunset. Families are encouraged to bring their kids where they can pack a picnic and relax as they take in the outdoor live music. Check out this summer’s lineup here.

4. JAS Labor Day Experience: Unlike any other outdoor music festival around, the JAS Labor Day Experience is scheduled this year for August 30-September 1.  At only 10,000 attendees, this boutique event features headliners such as Sting, Brandi Carlile, Tim McGraw, and many more along with gourmet food prepared by many local vendors around Aspen.
