Pride Month in Aspen is a time to come together as a community and celebrate diversity, inclusion, and love. This June come celebrate a month of love in Aspen, Colorado while you’re immersed in our beautiful surroundings, arts & culture scene, outdoor activities, and a plethora of Pride events to keep the festivities going all month long. Here are the best ways to celebrate pride month and LGBTQ+ in Aspen during the month of June.
Celebrate with the W Aspen. TAKE A STANCE. Join us in June 2024, and all year long, to celebrate self-expression and to cultivate a connected community by bringing diverse voices together to move culture forward. Email [email protected] for more information.
In collaboration with the City of Aspen, Aspen One, and the Aspen Chamber Resort Association, the AMFS will host its second Community Pride Celebration—a free event celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community, friends, and families. Enjoy ice cream, fun and celebration, and visit with local partner organizations. This event will kick off a four-day celebration titled “Sounds of Pride” celebrating and honoring the legacy of LGBTQIA+ musical artists and marking the anniversary of Aspen’s landmark anti-discrimination policy protecting gays and lesbians—the first of any Colorado municipality. Everyone is welcome!
Get involved with AspenOUT. AspenOUT is a nonprofit organization founded in 1996 that provides a safe and inclusive environment for the LGBTQ+ community in Aspen. The organization will host several events during the month of June, but you can stay involved all year long by volunteering or various sponsorship opportunities they offer to get your name in front of an incredible LGBTQ+ demographic.
Enjoy the scenery! Summer in Aspen is a season not to be missed. From an extensive arts & culture calendar, a multitude of dining options, and activities for every type of outdoor adventure- there are plenty of ways celebrate love in our beautiful surroundings.
Come back in the winter! Aspen is an ideal place to welcome love year-round and winter is no exception. In the mid-1970s, gay tourists from various ski clubs began meeting annually in Aspen. From these grassroots beginnings, Aspen Gay Ski Week has become the longest running and most popular week-long ski event in the nation. When visiting during Aspen Gay Ski Week, typically in January, AGSW visitors can enjoy four mountains of varied skiing and snowboarding terrain, as well as cross-country skiing, snowshoe and winter hiking trails in the Elk Mountains of Colorado.
