Pride Month in Aspen is a time to come together as a community and celebrate diversity, inclusion, and love. This June come celebrate a month of love in Aspen, Colorado while you’re immersed in our beautiful surroundings, arts & culture scene, outdoor activities, and a plethora of Pride events to keep the festivities going all month long. Here are the best ways to celebrate pride month and LGBTQ+ in Aspen during the month of June.
Celebrate with the W Aspen. This year, the W Aspen is proud to launch Aspen Pride for the first time ever in the city's history. The hotel has collaborated on this historic month of events with longtime Aspen LGBTQ+ organization, AspenOUT, which is dedicated to promoting tolerance and understanding through education, community action and service. W Aspen will also host a variety of events during the month, including mixology classes & pop-ups by renowned cocktail bars, as well as wellness events on WETdeck. Join them Friday, June 2nd at WETdeck for an epic start to Aspen Pride with beats from an incredible lineup of LGBTQ+ DJs. Sacha Linchine’s The Pale rosé will also be activating a limited-edition Pale Pong table for guests to try their hand at the elevated party game for the month of June, available exclusively on WETdeck. On Sunday, June 4th head to the W for Comedy Brunch featuring comics and Glam Stations. Ticket proceeds from Pride Opening Weekend will be donated to AspenOUT. Special Room reservations will also be available which include all access passes found here using code LPR when booking. For each room booked using the code, W Aspen will make a donation to AspenOUT. On June 29, join the Aspen Music Festival and us for a Community Pride Party! The Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee of the Aspen Music Festival & School presents an inaugural Aspen Pride month celebration featuring an amazing ice cream sundae bar, lawn games facilitated by Dr. Zackarina Jenny-hoe, performances by the Bonedale Flashmob and the Mister Sisters, community partner booths, a “Drag Closet” hosted by the Roaring Fork Divas, dancing and fun, for the LGBTQIA+ community, friends, families and allies. Everyone welcome! Learn more here.
Get involved with AspenOUT. AspenOUT is a nonprofit organization founded in 1996 that provides a safe and inclusive environment for the LGBTQ+ community in Aspen. The organization will host several events during the month of June, but you can stay involved all year long by volunteering or various sponsorship opportunities they offer to get your name in front of an incredible LGBTQ+ demographic.
Enjoy the scenery! Summer in Aspen is a season not to be missed. From an extensive arts & culture calendar, a multitude of dining options, and activities for every type of outdoor adventure- there are plenty of ways celebrate love in our beautiful surroundings.
Come back in the winter! Aspen is an ideal place to welcome love year-round and winter is no exception. In the mid-1970s, gay tourists from various ski clubs began meeting annually in Aspen. From these grassroots beginnings, Aspen Gay Ski Week has become the longest running and most popular week-long ski event in the nation. When visiting during Aspen Gay Ski Week, typically in January, AGSW visitors can enjoy four mountains of varied skiing and snowboarding terrain, as well as cross-country skiing, snowshoe and winter hiking trails in the Elk Mountains of Colorado.
