The Red Brick Center for the Arts is Aspen’s local hub for the arts offering nonprofit office spaces, studios for working artists and arts programming for all ages including classes, camps, gallery exhibitions, and artist lectures. The energy is buzzing and elated here as everyone is busy creating a multitude of arts happenings to keep us inspired and entertained over the festive holiday season.
Here are my top 12 picks of the current programming being created at the Red Brick. Don’t miss out on these unique and memorable opportunities.
- Holiday Event on December 9th, 4-7pm – Red Brick Center for the Arts invites you to an evening of mingling and merriment! Come shop local art, tour artist’s studios, and celebrate with the arts community of Aspen. We will have festive drinks, treats, and cookie decorating for families.
- Resident Artists Exhibition – Red Brick is proud to boast the talents of its Resident Artists and present an exhibition of works ranging from ceramics, sculpture, painting, photography, and jewelry design. This show is one not to miss and to purchase art you will keep forever.
- Academy Screening – For its 29th season, Aspen Film brings the heat of awards season to the mountains to showcase some of the most highly anticipated and accoladed films of the year, vying for award attention. - A Holiday Cabaret– Theatre Aspen is ringing in the festive season with A Holiday Cabaret, The Best of Broadway in Aspen. Hosted in the Hotel Jerome’s Grand Ballroom December 18th-23rd, enjoy an evening with fabulous friends, fabulous food, and fabulous frivolity. Evening shows include a chefs dinner followed by a performance while “Après Ski” shows include a welcome drink and canapés prior to the show. Do not miss out on this event! Learn more here.
- Masterpiece Mine – Come enjoy the relaxing, fun, and creative atmosphere in one of our most popular art classes. This class is open to all ability levels as our teacher Lorraine Davis will walk you step-by-step through the painting process. All art supplies and aprons provided. Learn more and register here.
- JAS Café – Jazz Aspen Snowmass keeps the music playing all year round with intimate shows at different venues around town. This December catch Eleanor Dubinsky & Dario Acosta, a holiday swing and soiree at the Here House/Local Coffee December 17th – 18th at 7pm and 9:15pm each night. - Pre-K Art Studio – Looking for something to do with your little ones during the cold winter days? Red Brick Center for the Arts off a free, drop-in style art class for the youngest of artists. - Theatre Aspen Education – Theatre’s mission to educate the next generation is alive this winter with classes for youth that building confidence, cultivate creativity, and strengthen collaborations. Learn more here.
- Winter Words – For its 25th season, Aspen Words once again has an extraordinary line-up of literary talent.
